Forfeits Policy

Every effort must be made to field a team for every scheduled match.

  • Age Coordinators and other managers in your age group should be able to assist in lending players

  • Team members should always be encouraged to make every effort to play.

  • If substitute players cannot been found and therefore no team formed, the manager will then have to apply to forfeit the game

  • NB Late Forfeits incur a $100 Fine that is to be paid by the team


How does a team Forfeit?

1. All forfeits must be formally notified to the Club Registrar info@lindfieldfc.com.au and to NSFA competitions@nsfa.asn.au

2. The Forfeit must be done at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the fixture.

  • Thursday 4pm for Men's and Mixed.

  • Friday 4pm for Women's and Girls

4. Your email should include the match date and details, the reason for the forfeit and what you have done to try to avoid forfeiting.

5. Initiate the Forfeit by using the DRIBL App OR attach a completed CF11A Forfeit Form to your email advising the forfeit.

  • Initiate the Forfeit via Dribl.

    • Select the match,

    • Click Matchsheet,

    • Scroll to bottom and select Forfeit request.

    • Give reason for forfeit and submit.

  • The forfeiting team must also advise their Age Coordinator - they need to know what is happening and can provide assistance in trying to avoid the forfeit by helping source subs.

LATE FORFEITS

If for any reason your team has to forfeit after business hours or on the weekend:

  1. You must make every attempt to get in touch with the opposition to advise them - especially if the match still shows active in Dribl - manager contact details are available in Dribl

    • Select the match

    • Click Matchsheet

    • Select Contact Details

  2. Initiate the Forfeit via Dribl.

    • Select the match,

    • Click Matchsheet,

    • Scroll to bottom and select Forfeit request.

    • Give reason for forfeit and submit.

  3. The forfeiting team is obliged to email NSFA asap: competitions@nsfa.asn.au and copy info@lindfieldfc.com.au and their Age Coordinator.

  4. The forfeiting team is also obliged to advise the Match officials: email appointments@kdfra.asn.au

Late Forfeits (less than 48 hours notice) are subject to fines PAYABLE BY THE TEAM!
The club does not have the funds to pay $100+ forfeit fines on behalf of teams.
If the reason for the forfeit is due to exceptional circumstances and every attempt (ie the above steps) have been made to communicate, the fine can be appealed.

It is totally unacceptable to Forfeit Late, without notice to the opposition, match officials and NSFA.

Teams will be FINED.

What Happens when a team Forfeits?

  • In squad divisions, no First Grade fixture may be forfeited without a corresponding forfeit in the Reserve Grade Fixture. This does not apply to “quasi squads”.

  • When a team forfeits a match, the opposition shall be awarded a 3 – 0 win.

  • When both teams forfeit a match, neither team shall be awarded any goals or competitive points Competition Age Groups (other than Under 9 to Under 11’s), if a team is unable to field at least seven (7) eligible registered players at the scheduled starting time, then such team will be deemed to have forfeited the match. No grace period shall be permitted.

  • Where a team has not reported to the referee by the scheduled kick-off or does not have the required minimum number (refer to section “Number of Players” page 24) of players present, 10 minutes grace from the scheduled starting time may be claimed and must be allowed. After the 10-minute grace period has passed a team failing to report to the referee shall automatically forfeit to its opponents, provided that the opponents have reported to the referee in good order.

  • Teams forfeiting on consecutive occasions without good reason may be removed from the competition at the discretion of the relevant football committee.


What happens with the Match Card?

  • The team officials do not need to submit a match card for matches forfeited - NSFA will update the details in the system.

  • Log into Dribl

  • Select the match

  • Click Matchsheet

  • Select Contact Details
